ABOUT

URL FIGHTERS is an international art performance network. The creative practices of the URL FIGHTERS fuse arts, science and entrepreneurship. Their performances are immersive and participatory and use a multidisciplinary approach that researches the connections between the artworld -fine art, design, fashion and music-, entrepreneurship -especially startups- and the internet in an age of fast developing -metaverse- technologies and spaces like blockchain and NFT. URL FIGHTERS underlines the spontaneity by favoring the “live” character of their performances. This aesthetic bias leaves room for chance and interaction,
surprise and rapid execution. It is part of a process of global reflection on the subjects and issues on which the artistic practice of URL Fighters are based like www and it's ecosystem heritage preservation, URL appropriation & artistic community passage to enter an URL.

PERFORMANCE   SHOOT PROTOCOLE

SINCE 2015,

WE PROTECTED MORE THAN 200 URLs

URL FIGHTERS P.S.P. is presented as a mobile and participatory photography studio. A participating candidate is asked to choose a start-up/URL, and then is assigned a character, a member of the "URL FIGHTERS" team, and must choose their Cocoït - a rudimentary wooden cutout that takes the form of a weapon. The URL FIGHTERS then places itself armed with Cocoït in front of a camera and a video projector which broadcasts the logo of the selected URL. The photographs taken, the URL FIGHTERS leaves with a code, a photograph and a new character: he protected a URL and therefore is a new member, a new fighter.
Text taken from the exhibition "Vision", 2016, Palais de Tokyo.

In 2022, the vision and creation of URL FIGHTERS is to create "dynamic" artwork -- projects with works that shift or transform over time, including after the buyer purchases it - including as a result of user interaction.

O.S.P.

URL FIGHTERS sound performances are radically different from contemporary mainstream
music. URL FIGHTERS underlines the spontaneity by favoring the “live” character of their
performances. This aesthetic bias leaves room for chance and interaction, surprise and rapid
execution. It is part of a process of global reflection on the subjects and issues on which the
artistic practice of URL FIGHTERS are based like. The energy and uniqueness of the
performances invites us to self-criticism, reflection and introspection.
URL FIGHTERS is not about something "clean", "familiar" or "pleasing" to the ear but something
fast-moving and fluctuating that originates from the image of our society. The artistic
impulses that give substance to the O.S.P. are rarely the subject of a laborious study. On
stage, against a backdrop of video projections sometimes accompanied by choreography,
the URL FIGHTERS style might sound like Idiosyncratic "psycho-messy electro post-punk."

For the instrumental and vocal parts of their performances, the artists only use analog and digital
instruments like synthesizers, samplers, sequencers or multi-effects pedals. To avoid
restricting the spontaneity and creativity of their performances

they refuse to pre-record their music on computer.

COCOÏT

COCOITDETOURE.png

The Cocoït is a figurative expression tool taking place within the performative approach of
URL FIGHTERS. A material vector for channeling the performative energy necessary for URL
FIGHTERS during their actions, it is at the same time an effective line of defense. In this artistic
process, Coïtus -the "action of joining, of reuniting"- is of major interest.
